 THE DAILY SCOOP™

Volume 2, Issue 9

By James m. (Wednesday, July 21, 2004 – Day 20 in BB House)

[WARNING: Possible Spoilers follow…]

I would grade last night’s Big Brother 5 episode as a B+.

The Girl (and Guy) Alliance decided to fool the Horsemen and at the last minute, they will vote out Holly. Holly told Michael that she thinks Diane is trying to get Jennifer to switch her vote to get her (Holly) out.

Operation Security Blanket is a go! Will, Diane, Jennifer, Adria, Karen, and Lori are in on the deal. Will has designed this secret operation so that his alliance can get farther into

Diane broke down because Scott called her "trailer trash." Scott: "We were just messing around. She's just a meat heat." Scott is making Diane want to be here more and more. Holly comforted Diane. Diane: "Nobody breaks me down." She is looking to get back at Scott and get him out of the house.

Scott showed off his stupid side. Will: "He is a gorilla... He has proven himself a numb-nut." Diane: "The kid looks at himself at least 200 times a day... He is a meathead."

Jennifer is playing the "Goth" card. Jennifer said that the more she hangs out with Michael, the more she cannot stand him. "My family is proud people... I would vote him out." Jennifer said.

Lori told Karen in the Cement Room that she wants to go home. Karen doesn't even want to think about saying her name in the Diary Room. Will tried to convince Lori that she needs to stay because Karen and him can't be broken apart. Karen said that Lori needs to shut up and ride it out. Karen told Lori that she needs her and Will. Karen said that she got the vote and that Lori will be staying.

Scott and Marvin both think that Adria (and Natalie) is (are) awesome. Every couple of days, the twins switch. It is a very crazy job; both of them cannot let their personalities come out.

It is time for the Veto Competition. The three players that were chosen were Drew (by Marvin), Karen (by Lori), and Jase (by Holly). Will was chosen as the delegate to read the rules. "Snag the Veto" was the game's name. The object: untangle your rope and get your ring to the end poll. Jase rolled up a lot of fire hose and was getting ahead. He held his rope. Karen was mad when she ran into Jase and she described him as a disease that encompasses you constantly. Lori and Jase were head-to-head, with Jase having a small lead. Jase won the competition. Holly is "super" proud of Jase for winning; she knows he might take her off. Lori was mad because she has been coming in second place almost every time. Karen knows that Jase will take the "twit" off the Block.

The Horsemen talked to Adria and tried to draw her in. She said that she doesn't know about any of the alliances. The macho guys decided that Karen, if she leaves, would confuse Will and just through he for a loop. Marvin knows that by doing this he will probably anger the other HGs, but he said that he has to play the game.

Karen is getting annoyed with the other HGs. "I am Scott and I am just so hot." "Deep fried aardvarks." Karen said making fun of Scott and Marvin, respectively.

Holly told Jase that she knows that Lori wants to go and that Jase doesn't need to save her. She said that Jase not using the veto could help her more than taking her off. Holly said in the Diary Room that it might come back to haunt Jase AND her. Who knows...?

Lori was going insane because she doesn't know if Jase will use the PoV. Jase knew that Karen was trying to play him. Jase told Scott that even if the both of them were nominated (down the road), they could probably take the other off.

Nakomis decided to get a Mohawk. She said that she had always wanted one so what the heck! I guess whatever suits you.

Cue dramatic music and Jase: "It is time for the Veto Meeting." No one knew if he was going to use it. Lori described it as "nerve-racking." Jase gave a bogus last-minute speech. Lori: "Marvin, I respect your decision…" Holly: "I don't want to see this relationship end…" (Talking about her relationship with Lori.)

Marvin put Karen up in Holly's place. He called Karen his "ally." Last time I checked didn't ally mean friend and cohort? Marvin is mad at Jase because he changed his nominees and that Holly was put up for a reason. Last time I check also, didn't the Four Horsemen tell him whom to put up? Whatever.

Lori better go; that's all I have to say.

PREDICTIONS…

On the off chance that Karen won’t stay, as I said Monday, I will be very surprised. Here are the following voters and for whom I think they will vote:

Adria/Natalie, Diane, Jennifer, and Will will definitely vote to evict Lori.

Drew, Holly, Jase, Michael, and Scott will vote to evict Lori. (They might swing to evict Karen, but Karen is on The Block mainly just so that Lori is a guaranteed evictee. If Holly was still on The Block, chances are that she would have been evicted or at least that was very likely. I’m sure the Four Horsemen wanted to make sure that didn’t happen, or at least Jase didn’t want it to happen.)

I predict that the vote, once again, will be unanimous. Someone said that it would be nice to give Lori a pity vote. Maybe Holly would be so kind to help out her “friend” and send a vote Karen’s well. I still say whatever!

THE CURRENT SCOOP…

Week Two: HoH – Marvin; Nods – Karen (formerly Holly, before veto) and Lori; POV – Jase (used it to take Holly off The Block); more to come in Friday’s edition (please note: no edition tomorrow, unless something important happens). Bye for now.

 THE DAILY SCOOP™: LATE EDITION

Volume 2, Issue 8

By James m. (Monday, July 19, 2004 – Day 18 in BB House)

[WARNING: Possible Spoilers follow…]

I am sorry for this late edition of the DS, but the veto meeting was held today and Jase decided to use it. As it was speculated, he used the PoV to rescue Holly from the shark-infected waters known as “The Block.” As planned beforehand, Marvin replaced the vacant seat on The Block by telling Karen that she was the new nominee for eviction, joining Lori, who was nominated along with Holly last Friday.

While this might seem like it will upset the game, Lori will probably be going home this Thursday night; however, Big Brother is known for its fickleness. Lori has the envy of every HouseGuest, considering that on the first night she deprived everyone of a weeklong diet filled with every type of food imaginable. Instead, everyone got a diet of PB&J because she took an offer for $10,000. This is one of the main reasons that Marvin nominated Lori. In a sense, she has already made it to the end, at least third place, because rumors have it that the weekly stipend, (for each week a HG is in the house, they get a certain amount of money, believed to be under $1,000), wouldn’t amount to that much for the third place contestant. (The first place prize is $500,000, while the runner-up gets only $50,000.) So, in a sense, Lori has beaten the system. Good luck to you!

OPINIONS…

If the house is split on Thursday’s vote (actually the HGs will vote on Wednesday afternoon), then Holly is said to be the girl tiebreaker. The Girl (and Guy) Alliance: Adria, Diane, Jennifer, and Will. The Evil Horsemen: Drew, Jase, Michael, and Scott. This means if everyone just doesn’t vote for Lori, there could be a split down the house and Holly would probably have been manipulated by Jase to vote the malevolent way.

I just hope that Lori leaves and Adria wins HoH on Thursday. Quite possibly, this Thursday’s episode could contain the yearly endurance challenge, where the HGs have to stand or do something very uncomfortable to win the power of nominating. Last year, there was the jail cell that HGs had to stand in and who remained longest in the cage won. On Big Brother 3, HGs had to stand on small houses while holding their key in the nominate box. There were gusting winds, rain, and even snow that fall upon them. There are many other examples. I just hope the girls, not Holly, will win the competition, whatever it is.

 THE DAILY SCOOP™

Volume 2, Issue 7

By James m. (Sunday, July 18, 2004 – Day 17 in BB House)

[WARNING: Possible Spoilers follow…]

I would grade last night’s Big Brother 5 episode as a B+.

Jase said that seeing Mike leave was hard. Holly said that she would miss The Don. Marvin said that he didn't think it would be that rough. Marvin, continued in the Diary Room, said that as long as he wasn't leaving, how sad could he be sad? Karen and Scott knew that they would not miss Mike. Now, Marvin is HoH. Jase thinks that Marvin is an outer-"Horsemen" and that he will be safe, especially since that Jase didn't put Marvin up on the block last week. Lori knows that she is not safe because Marvin was NOT happy with her when she took the 10K on the first day.

Ice Cube's picture (Marvin's dog) and a teddy bear are some of the items in this week's HoH Room. "To go from the outhouse to the penthouse is phenomenal," Marvin described his experience.

Karen told Will in the Cement Room that she can see through all of the brownnosers, which there will be a lot of this week.

Time for the food competition: The HGs got bandanas and when they went into the backyard, they discovered a barnyard. The competition involved a slingshot and each HG got turns shooting chickens into baskets on the opposing wall.

Lori was up first and got “beer” as her first chicken went into the basket. After a few minutes, Will hit the "Bad egg," the basket that voided all of the previous items won by the HGs. One minute and fifteen seconds were left on the clock. Jase said in the DR (Diary Room) that anyone could have done it, but it was still sad. Everyone rushed to get something, anything. Scott got the Seafood basket. Karen earned Bacon and Sausage. Jase earned Milk and Butter. Marvin said that Will would be burned by the steak. "That sucks. I want bear!" Scott commented. Will, in the DR was very mad at himself for (basically) losing the competition for the house. He continued to cry in the toilette and Karen comforted him. Jase and Scott were not being supportive. Will hates them so much. Will talked about how Jase always refers to things as "gay," using it as a derogatory comment. Poor Will.

The other two "Horsemen," Michael and Scott know that Holly is Jase using for his power and that she knows the power Jase has. Michael said that Jase needs to get his head back into the game and stop fooling around. Scott told the other Horsemen that Marvin would probably be going next week because he is the only guy in the house not in the strong alliance.

Diane and Holly talked in the bathroom. Holly called Jase a jerk and Diane told her that she is being used. Well, Holly told Jase the next day. (This is the fight I saw on Wednesday afternoon on the Live Feeds. A catfight is coming up on in the episode.) The problem is and was that Holly is a blabbermouth. If you tell her something, she goes to Jase or whomever the conversation was about and tells them.

Michael is the only guy in the powerhouse alliance that really doesn't care about his looks. Now, he and Scott have become partners in looks. Scott proceeded to shave part of Michael’s legs, being the metro-sexual he is.

After the huge conversation with Jase and Holly, Jase thought that Lori was the person that told Holly about Jase playing Holly. Jase then proceeded to call out Lori and sort of yell at her. Lori got very mad. Holly is now mad at Jase and (on the live feed) found out that Diane and Lori were mad at Holly for not leaving her mouth closed.

Marvin knows that if Lori would get HoH, he would be on the way out. Michael was sent to talk with Jennifer, by the Four Horsemen, in order to make sure her vote is solid and that they could get one of the girls out. Michael talked to Jennifer and wanted her to help to get someone out, but he wouldn't tell Jennifer the girl's name. "If they want me to play by their rules, then they have to play by mine." Jennifer told Michael. It sounded like she really didn’t agree.

Adria went into the HoH room and Marvin wanted assurance that she would vote out Lori. Marvin said that when she agreed to she go through with the vote, he knew she was lying. If Adria would agree to vote Lori out, Marvin knew that she would flip sides at one point or another. (This might not be a good thing for the twins, Adria and Natalie.)

Nominations were on Friday and man, you could cut the tension in the house with a knife. Marvin commented on Mike' black-and-white photo and believed that it could have been his black-and-white picture up there easily. Why so much tension?

No one can predict Marvin, especially the girls. They just wanted to get the ceremony over. "It's kill or be killed, in this game." Marvin described after his determining process for the nominees.

"This is not personal; I'm just repaying a debt from last week." Marvin explained at the ceremony. The first name pulled is Diane, followed by Will, Jennifer, Michael, Drew (Scott is now smiling), Karen, Jase (Holly and Lori are praying), Adria, and Scott. Marvin nominated Lori because she is very “influential;” she is the most powerful HG in the house. Also, she is the most attractive person in the house and she took he money on the first day. Holly was put up because she was playing Jase. Marvin wanted to "remove the queen" from the game.

"It really does feel like a funeral ... You could cut the tension with a knife." Will said. Holly: "I knew it was coming. I want to sick it out; I made a promise to myself and to my cats."

The Four Horsemen need to go!

OPINIONS…

I agree with Will. Jase and Scott are the type of guys that are just hard to stand. They think that they rule the roost and strut around like chickens. The problem: when you get sick and tired of them, you can't cook and eat them. Ah, too bad…

THE CURRENT SCOOP…

Week Two: HoH – Marvin; Nods – Holly and Lori; POV – Jase (meeting probably today); on the live feeds yesterday, Holly is funny in telling Jase, “If you want to be a hero, put yourself up;” more to come in tomorrow’s edition. Bye for now.

 THE DAILY SCOOP™

Volume 2, Issue 5

By James m. (Friday, July 16, 2004 – Day 15 in BB House)

[WARNING: Possible Spoilers follow…]

I would grade last night’s Big Brother 5 episode as an A.

Julie Chen is LIVE and that means it's someone time to go... Well, that was last, night and we found out who would leave. Luckily for us, Julie was dressed more appropriately and no glitter. (Though, on "Housecalls: the Big Brother Talk show," Gretchen said that she loved the glitter, while Marcellas was not in agreement.)

Michael says that the “Four Horsemen” can help Jennifer and they can help her. Marvin thinks she is a target because she has a brother in the house. Nakomis is working both sides of the house: the guys and the girls. Will said in the Diary Room that Jennifer is an apparent threat for him; she needs to go. (Though, Will is sort of doing the same thing.)

Mike tried to rally people together to get Scott and Jase broken up. "If you want to win, break them apart." Mike told Drew about Scott and Jase.

Scott was ready to win HoH, since Jase had the power last week.

Julie talked to the HouseGuests. Michael told Julie that it was hard having Jennifer on the block, but outside the house, they could catch up. Julie asked Lori if she regretted taking the money. Lori said she was worried at first about taking the money, but everyone has been very supportive.

In the Diary Room, Holly and Scott said that Mike is a great player and he has to leave, while Marvin said has still hasn't figured out Jennifer. She is too odd for him.

After the commercial break, we met Michael's mother and newly found father. Michael and Jennifer's father was very glad that the information surfaced and that his unknown son was found. Guy (Jennifer’s father) was very happy. Michael's mother, Christine, was also very happy to learn about Michael's new sister. Guy saw the similarities and the close energy levels.

Back in the Diary Room, Karen sees the differences in Jennifer, but Adria said that one cannot "knock" someone on their physical appearance. Drew said that the more you know about her (talking about Jennifer) and that she is quite cool.

Jase talked to Julie in the HoH Room. Jase said he loved being HoH and the cool perks; although, he thinks that some people would deceive him because of his power. Jase is crazy for what he told Julie. He said that he wished he had revealed the spy-ware to the whole house. Jase is about making sure that people think that they can trust him. I know I surely wouldn't, especially since he is involved with the most powerful alliance in the house.

DR (Diary Room): Michael said that Mike is a player, which Will agreed with (though Mike would be a good player to be allied with). Will and Lori see that Mike can be a silent killer. The producers, once again, made sure that the audience didn't know who would go.

"Both hoped to walk out a winner, but now one will have to leave." Julie informed us. Mike, in his pre-farewell address said that he liked his fellow housemates. Jennifer said it has been an "awesome" experience and she loves everyone.

Votes: By a unanimous vote Mike is evicted. On his way out, Mike: "Someone could have given me one vote." Everyone smiles and hugs him. "Say hi to your kids," one of the girls said.

Inside the house, Jennifer is safe. Everyone was happy. "Do you guys wanna go bowling?" someone retorts.

Julie interviewed Mike. Mike thought that he was evicted because there were too many misunderstandings between Jase and him. Mike said that he didn't rally for Jennifer to leave because he sort of wanted to leave. He said that he was disappointed leaving with no money, but the best thing about being in the house was Marvin. The other HGs left messages for him: Holly will miss talking about animals; Marvin: "No re-count"; Will: "You were the only one to intellectually stimulate me"; Lori: "I look forward to seeing you in Detroit"; Scott: "I'm the strongest player and you had to go." Scott was a jerk. Mike said that he doesn’t think Scott is the biggest player in the game and he doesn't want to see Scott and Jase win. He also said that he doesn't believe that anyone came to play the game as much as he did. (Well, that's what led to his demise.)

I don't know if any other HGs (especially Holly) came into the game with a solid plan and were ready to plan, at least as much as Mike. Maybe, Mike was just too obvious about. Sorry, Mike. I hated to see you leave, but at least you will go down in the books with other contestants that left first, like Sheryl, who it worked out for because she was diagnosed with breast cancer right after she got out (she's was and is okay).

Now, it’s time for the next Head-of-Household Competition: It looks like an intellectual game, called "Majority Rules." The players responded to the questions by agreeing with the majority will get a correct mark.

Here are the following question asked:

Who looks at himself more? Scott is the majority. (Drew, Will, and others get it wrong.)

Rather receive mouth-to-mouth from? Drew. (Diane gets it wrong.)

Who hates PB&J more? Marvin. (Jennifer and Karen are gone.)

Would rather baby-sit their kids? Tie between Scott and Holly.

Best Cook: Marvin or Karen? All say Marvin.

Better lover poem: Will or Jennifer? Tie; everyone stays.

TIME FOR A TIEBREAKER... Get out the boards, closest number without getting over wins.

What is the total number of food balls grabbed by the HGs during the opening food spiral game? (I thought it was 63.) It was 100. Marvin wins HoH was 81. Jase handed over the key to the HoH Room.

Time to reveal which twins are playing and they switch LIVE: They have already switched places three times. Luckily, the other twin lives in seclusion. The twin must also stay on the PB&J diet, in the house is on it. Then, after five weeks (if they make it that far) the twins will both compete for the money. Only one can win, though. Natalie and Adria are the switching twins. When switching, they can only share five points and have just fifteen minutes to do so.

Natalie said that it is hard to play someone she is not. Adria said that the demands are very hard. They have to remain undiscovered for five weeks and then they can both come into the house to compete for the big prize. Adria talked to Julie and said that a close call came when she was in a conversation with someone and didn't know some information that Natalie has told the HG. Adria is constantly trying to be Natalie, and vice versa. It is nerve-wracking for Adria because she said that she couldn’t be herself. The thing about this twin switch is that no one knows that Adria has a twin, while they know about the other HG's secrets.

Right before the show ended, we are back in the Diary Room and the twins switched. Julie said, "Let's go! Right now!" The switch is made and we see Adria go into the house and out into the yard and the credits roll. It was sort of funny.

OPINIONS…

It's a good thing Marvin is HoH. Is he allied with guys or the girls? In fact, I don't know with whom he is allied. He will be unpredictable and it will be awesome!!!! Maybe he'll put up Scott and Jase. That would be cool!

Also, I LIKE this new twin twist. I guess I was wrong when I said that Big Brother needed to get better, fast. I shouldn't have worried.

RECAPPING POLL RESULTS…

Since we have now changed the poll, we would like to give you a thorough analysis of what we found after our one-week poll:

For our first poll on which HouseGuest you favored, Drew came out on top with 29% of the vote. Will and Michael followed with 14% and 11%, respectively. Mike and Adria were the only HGs not too receive any vote. Jase, Jennifer, Lori, and Scott also were poorly liked, receiving 3%. Holly (4%), Karen (6%), and Marvin (6%) fared well.

In the second part of our poll, we asked whom you felt should be evicted and we found that Holly was the overall leader, with 28%. Following closely behind were Mike (Nominated) and Jase (HoH) with 26% of the vote. Jennifer (Nominated) tied with Another HG, with 10%.

Note: We had a nice 39 individuals vote in our 2-part poll and we would like to thank you for voting.

THE CURRENT SCOOP…

Week Two: HoH – Marvin; Nods – Holly and Lori; POV – TBD, more to come in tomorrow’s edition. Bye for now.
