2012 Olympics Bid Update

London passes Paris to win 2012 Olympic Bid  (Wednesday, July 06, 2005)

In what some would see as an upset, London won the rights to the 2012 Summer Olympics Games, beating Paris in final round, after Moscow, New York City, and Madrid were all eliminated in preceding rounds during voting that took place in Singapore at the 117th IOC Session and election of the host city for the Games in 2012.
